Adorable Thick Billed Green Pigeon

This is a small but beautiful Pigeon found in Manas. The Thick-billed Green Pigeon is very difficult to locate in the tall green tree. Because of its beautiful green plumage, it can easily camouflage in a green background of the tree. This bird has a thick pale greenish bill with the red base, broad bluish Green Eye ring, grey crown and mantle diagnostics.
Wings have black primary and secondaries with a yellow outer edge. Underside green in both the sexes. Thighs dark green with whitish scales.
IUCN recognized this bird under the Red list  category of least concern but locally it is hunted heavily for meat in the fringe areas of Manas. So regular awareness must to aware mainly teenage from the fringe of Manas.
