Gunzema, an open-air restaurant started by a group of conservation volunteers in nearby villages from the Manas National Park. This is situated in a beautiful location hardly 3 kilometers distances from the Bansbari range. The location is really amazing and full of greenery. People can easily spot winged fauna like Eagle, strock, kingfisher, swamp francolin, etc.

In the evening just a few yards from the campus visitors may easily locate hog deer, barking deer, rhino and wild elephants. It is also far away from the concrete and digital world. People here would not find mobile phone connectivity. Finally, in Gunzema, visitors may find enough green space to enjoy, opportunities to relish varieties of Bodo delicacies and warm hospitality.
Gunzema is the unique business endeavor of Swamkr Mitinga Onsai Afat a conservation organization formed by 40 Bodo youths from the nearby villages of Manas national park. Before formed this conservation organization these youths were involved in numerous illegal activities. They were hunted or killed animals or cut valuable trees illegally. It was their daily practice more than 17 years ago. Fortunately, they left their hostile practices and joined the mainstream conservation front. Now they are one of the main conservation groups of Manas.
These volunteer groups played a crucial rule in the reestablishment of the Greater One-Horned Rhino Population in Manas. The resident rhino population of Manas was wiped out due to poaching in the early nineties due to poaching so new rhinos were established through the translocation from Kaziranga National Park and Pobitora Wildlife Sanctuary of Assam. Now Manas has viable rhino population with 39 individuals.
