Rhino-2 (Iragdao) was translocated to Manas National Park on 12th April,2008 from Pobitora Wild Life Sanctuary. Rhino-1 and Rhino-2 were together released at Manas under the program of IRV2020. This was created a new history in the path of rhino conservation chapter in Assam and India. Rhino-2 was quite shy and like to use Bhuynapara range after release at Manas . Same animal was stray outside from the park on 1st September,2008 and reached 100km distances from the Manas park boundary. We were relentlessly working and able to recapture this animal at Kalseni after 15 days of hard work.
Rhino-2 was dominant male and father of almost 8 rhino calves born at Manas . This majestic male was killed by poacher 13th January,2013. Today on the day of second death anniversary I remembered with sorrowful heart.
