Culture Linkages Towards Conservation

'Bagarumba'  is a traditional and one of the beautiful folk dance form of Bodo community. It is a traditional dance which is  traditionally inherent to one generation to another generation. The Bodo women perform the Bagarumba with their colorful dokhna, jwmgra (fersa), and aronai. It is accepted as the main traditional dance of Bodo People.

With this dance form accompanied by musical instrument like Kham (a long drum, made of wood and goat or other animal skin), sifung (flute, made from  bamboo), jota (made of iron), serja (a bowed instrument made of wood and animal skin),  gongwna (made of bamboo) and tharkha( a piece of split bamboo).  Anyone can be amazed by this dance . But the lack of regular practice, the guidance it is difficult to perform. This dance has high tourism value. Thousands of tourist visited to see and enjoy this dance real raw format in the fringe of Manas National Park. We, therefore, arrange a six days dance workshop at Baregabari Bodo Basti( Village Hamlet) from the 28th November. Two resource person invited for the same. I hope this workshop may help to perform professionally in their village locality. I also expect economic boost up of these poor women of this village. May I request you please visit this village for enjoying Bagarumba in the open sky with minimum expenditure .
I hope this initiative may boost up community linkages towards conservation of Manas National Park
