Dehing Patkai notified as 7th National Park of Assam


The Dehing Patkai National Park is a long pending demand from the conservation front of Assam. Popularly known as ‘Dehing Patkai Rain Forest’ has unique floral and faunal diversity and endemic to the North Eastern Region of India. 

The biodiverse Dehing Patkai region was recognized by the Government of Assam in 2004 declaring it as Dehing Patkai Wildlife Sanctuary with an area of 111.19 square kilometers. Now the Dehing Patkai National Park has been declared with an expanding area of 234.26square kilometers.
