Hey this is December in Assam
As the sky gets clearer, Blue Mountain can be seen from far and wide. Sun rays are soft and sweet, and people are relaxing by harvesting crops in the fields. This is beauty of December and Aghon (Assamese month).
It seems that the people are now too busy on their harvesting fields to do anything else. Amongst the golden yellow paddy fields, there is a throng of villagers with different levels of involvement in the activities.
During this time of year, people are less likely to spend time at home than at any other time of the year. The majority of their time is spent in the field, transporting rice with buffalo carts and preparing the land for winter vegetables.
There are some of them who are busy harvesting fish because after a couple of months the water table shall be reduced.
There is still a vibrant rural life in Assam. There is nothing better than the simple and rustic village life as compared to the busy urban lifestyle. Here, time is slow, but love and affection surround you constantly. Come see and enjoy this happy life near Manas.
