Manas NP the World Heritage Site is a splendor creation of almighty. Manas NP is reviving from its bad days due to positive effort of different section of good minded people. But some evil forces have been trying to threat Manas since past.
We lost one of our most favorite adult female rhino name Odangshi in the month of October,2013 due to poaching. She left her just one year old rhino calf (Pankaj) alive . Calf is now fine with sound health.
I personally feel very sorry for lost of this adult female rhino. I have been tracking this rhino since its release at Manas along with other field colleagues. I have been regularly following this rhino's behavior, ranging pattern as well as all other necessary things.
She was the first translocated rhino to give birth at Manas and created a history. I still remember the day 26 September,2012. After receiving the information about birth we were continuously trying to locate her and newborn calf and we succeeded after about 19 hours of search effort. we were the first team to locate first translocated rhino's baby at wild stage. We observed her proud and protective nature at that moment.
I feel sorry for those fringe school students who gave her name as Odhanshi (Free minded).
I request all like minded people to join hand against all evil for our wild life at our lonely planet.
We must declare one strong war against all kind of poaching and evil practices on Wild Life.
