Night illuminated with Solar Street Lights at Manas NP

There are four solar street lights installed at southern boundary of Manas National Park in the last week of December, 2013 under IRV2020 program.  Four selected locations were Roharpam, Barengabari, Katajhar Bathan and Daoraibari. With this innovative support, park authority is expecting to improve security scenario in entire stretches from the Gyati gaon to Katajhar at night.  This is also helping to promote green energy as well as to reduce crop damage by wild animals in adjoining areas of park. However, six solar lights have already been  installed at Southern Boundary of Manas NP under the project- Enhancing the livelihood of fringe community in Manas National Park using technical interventions and fostering conservation linkages” supported by “Seed Division department of science & technology New Delhi. Project is implemented by Manas Ever Welfare Society (MEWS) in collaboration with WWF-India and Manas National Park Authority.
