World Rhino Day-2015 at Assam

Great Indian One Horned Rhino, is one of the great mega herbivores alive on the earth. It is one of the most enduring emblems of Indian subcontinent’s rich biological heritage as well as the State animal Assam, India. Global poaching crisis have been threatening the state rhino populations as well as entire five rhinoceros population in the world for last few years.
As a part of conservation effort every year 22nd September is celebrated as World Rhino Day. This program was first announced by WWF-South Africa in the year 2010. Thereafter World Rhino Day grew into an international success, encompassing both African and Asian rhino bearing countries.
WWF-India has been celebrating this program since the year of inception of this program. Under banner of Indian Rhino Vision 2020, WWF-India is planned to organize different level of school and community awareness program at Kaziranga National Park, Manas National Park and Laokhowa-Burachapori Wild Life Sanctuary Complexes in association with local communities.

In Kaziranga NP, World Rhino Day will be celebrated at  Chandan Sing Rongpi Memorial M.E. & High School . In Manas NP, Neheru High School , Gati Village and in Laokhowa Burachapri Sutripar High School will be venue for the same.  WWF-India welcome everybody to take part of this program.
