The Village Lover

Recently I met a young and energetic youth at Bhutankhuti immediate eastern buffer of Manas National Park. I was there to participate in a plantation drive organized by an organization known as Manas Souchi Khongur Ecotourism Society. Mr. Bijoy Choudhury is the main guiding force of the organization. As usual, I was introduced with Mr. Mahendra Dutta Narzary by Mr. Bijoy Choudhury in the same vent premises. In the course of our conversation, I came to know that Mr. Narzary is a dynamic local leader and would like to lead a social change in the entire village.

He loves his village and committed to bringing and positive social change in his village and other neighboring areas. He formed a young team to achieve his goal. He has initiated a livelihood development program to develop the socio-economic condition of the poor villagers. He has guided 10 families to do mushroom cultivation and linkage their product market in Bhutan. As this place is not so far from India and Bhutan International Border. Every morning 2-3 young boy packed few kgs of Mushroom in their bike and directly sold out in Bhutan. Now he is planning to start some agriculture-related program in the villages.

Clean and Beautiful Bangalepara Village

   He has accomplished Village Resource Mapping activity in collaboration with one Non-Governmental Organization named as Sounjog. He hopes that this resource mapping would help them to plan future development plan.  He suggested us to undertake such project entire fringe of Manas for better conservation planning. He has another dream to make his Bangalepara village as completely solid waste pollution free village. So he requested all villagers to construct one bamboo dustbin every corner of the village to deposit waste. The young brigade disposes of all garbage in a safer place.

As a first visitor in the Bangalepara, we have not noticed singe plastic other than a dustbin. Mr. Narzary is also a musician and guitarist. He has developed a YouTuber Brand called Mijjing (Hope). The theme of the song based on rape music and they have already started to compose a few songs for that brand.
